Simplydancer,

Please don`t have a simple mind!

The WDC position is freedom to choice. Freedom to choose whatever competition you like to participate or officiate in. No matter what, IDSF IDSA IDU etc.

It does not mean not to have competitions with no regulations!!

Do you really think that the very top well experienced and respected Professionals in the WDC that adjudicate and teach all to most of the worlds top couples, would want and allow "chaos" as you put it? You must be simple indeed if you believe this to be true?

Have you ever heard of the WDC coaches commision for example? We assume not?

Do you know anything about WDC and the best dancers in the world that belong to WDC? And the fine WDC sanctioned events?

Or are you only experienced with inferior IDSF events that are in many cases judged by non dancers, or dancers of a very low or inferior level?

Most IDSF world champions turn to WDC without fail eventually.

to simply dancer

No one suggests that when you hold a competition you should not have rules governing the competition. If that is what you believe you are mistaken.

Banning a member of your organization from joining another organization has nothing to do with competition rules. It has everything to do with human rights.

If I shop at Safeways they may give me a discount if I become a member. But they dont say I can/t shop at Loblaws. That is against the law in most countries as the IDSF is finding out.

 Simplydancer, welcome to the Forum.

I posted once,  and shy  to post again, thinking it was perhaps the  BO which attract unkind comments.

Ready to learn from Yaks - behinds towards the circle centre, horns towards the attackers ?

Is it worth it,   when we could graze peacefully on greener pastures ?

Certainly you have the right to think of a nicely sounding name, invent, create, register a name of of your own federation,  even start your own petition.  Why not ?

Petition for freedom to   cross borders with a Drivers License.

Petition for freedom not to pay Taxes.

Petition for freedom to Petition for Freedom .

Petition for freedom not to be Bullied in a Forum .

Re-   "Most IDSF world champions turn to WDC without fail eventually."

Is it not like saying "most  rich people  will eventually turn to a bank to deposit their moneys, without fail eventually ?"

Well, look how worried  some  are about safety of their money now.

Bulldog  It is very strange. I saw that Simplydancer has been part of the forum for more than a year and made 27 contributions before.   I checked your one previous post and no one made any comment at all on your words about the World Games. Why do you  write now about "unkind comments"?

I think in this thread we are interested only in one Petition.  That which came about because of the actions of two bodies  and the particular action involved in banning children from Junior Blackpool.  If the IDSF and FIDS supporters are pleased about the ban on Junior Blackpool for Italian (and possibly) Russian children it is easy to understand why they are opposed to the petition launched by the WDC.

I was just watching "So you think you can dance" on television. 3000 plus people wanted to dance. Complete freedom. It is the sort of freedom WDC is talking about? Or do dancers have to be members of any of the many associations, unions, federations or whatever name they can think of?

----

 Simplydancer

These are the opening words on the petition and I think they are self explanatory .

Welcome To the WDC Petition for
"Freedom to Dance"

Welcome to the WDC Petition for "Freedom To Dance"

In recent times, we have all seen several issues of trying to control where dancers compete and adjudicators judge. This has culminated in the action by the Italian IDSF Member Body to try to stop Junior & Juvenile competitors from competing in the Junior Blackpool Festival 2009.

You will realise the answer to your question  "is it the sort of freedom WDC is talking about"  is NO WDC were not talking about TV shows.   Perhaps had you read you would not have found the need to pose the question.

Death of a PETITION for Freedom to Dance ?

Παρασκευή, 26 Ιουνίου 2009 1:16 πμ

1122,

Only 1122 signatures ?   Representing less than 600 dance couples.

Was this pitiful Petition idea  worth the embarrassment ?

What will WDC do with the 1122 e-mails, when will they pass them onto their Worldly minority groups for the purpose of sending invitations to WDC sponsored events,   1122  signatures can hardly be worth waving a flag of Freedom.

What was that hype all about...lets face it....there is not even an interest to sign on....what a pitiful idea -  Petition for Freedom.

Now not a word about it,  just silence, would the originator not rather be placed in a deep hole and burried ?

Advice,  do not start anything if you cannot predict a positive outcome.

goldfinger a hype free response. We clearly have different views in human dignity and human rights. I believe in both and am proud to have brought the topic to the forum.

Early on it was predicted that many would be too intimidated to sign., and it seems to have been proven true. However many of the names that did sign were extremely interesting and many have constantly refused in the past to take sides but now are openly making declarations. That in itself is a massive victory for freedom and human rights. Many of the signatures are not "partnerships" so your 600 couples is way off.

There never was an uilterior motive behind the petition and I am proud that I added my name to the other One thousand plus souls who seek a better world a better future for DanceSport
