Spectator100: I heard recently, from a very reliable source, that she is going to dance with her boyfriend now. Things change, as with Mr Hawkins and Miss Bolton, but that is the last I heard and I thought it was common knowledge.

As I said Arunas will be the next World Champion, either way and it is something that every country and Mr. Kimmins and Mr. McDonald in particular, have been dreaming of for a long, long time. Consequently, they must acknowledge the WDC, the professional's organization, and the U.S.A.'s acheivement in producing  a World Champion. Don't you think so?

 loveofdance..............there is a lot of gossip that comes from "reliable sources" and I have learned not to trust anything until announced officially or proven by competing at an event.  

Many things can happen before the WDC World Ballroom Championships in September.

The "USAs achievment" in "producing" a World Champion ? 

Even if Bizokas/Demidova or Cocchi/Zagorouitchenko were to be the next WDC World Champions neither could be considered USA "produced".  They would simply be USA representatives.  No credit to either Mr McDonald or Mr Kimmins.

Spectator100: I am in total agreement with you. I ammerely stating that the said parties would like to take the credit. Therefore, logic suggests that the two of them would love to recogniZe the acheivement

However, Katusha did go to the U.S.A. when she was very young though.

These days, I don't believe ANY nation can really take full credit. They have been taking with the world's best coaches all of their careers.

Spectator100 I share your sentiments.

The thoughts in my mind are.............

should a USA representative couple become WDC World Champions in 2009 this will be the result of (in the words of Mr. Kimmins) W.D.C. "malevolence".

At the same time Mr Kimmins the Vice President of IPDSC and Mr McDonald the delegate to the IPDSC for DanceSportAmerica seem to have raised no objection (but have given mutual support and collaboration) to the IDSF in their malevolent actions against Mr. Bizokas.    What a weird world.

Taking into account that Mr Bizokas is presenting a WDC Amateur League event in Lithuania in June  and that Mr Cocchi was an Adjudicator at the WDC Am League World Championships in Paris and with his partner winner of the 2008 Dutch Open it is very clear where the loyalties of the competitors are placed. 

insideloop...............I was once asked did I know of any coach who did not claim that they trained Bosco/Pitton!    However it is my suspicion (and I will be happy to be proved wrong) that this couple could be the next IPDSC World Standard Champions.

At the IPDSC Annual General Meeting the minutes show that Mr Brian McDonald of DanceSport America asked to be assured that the independence and autonomy of the IPDSC was being preserved which assurance Mr Peter Maxwell the President gave.

 

Meanwhile at the IDSF Annual General Meeting Mr Allert from Germany expressed his surprise that Germany was on the IPDSC  list as a member when Germany had not applied for membership. Mr Allert also asked for confirmation that only members or bodies that IDSF approve are able to be members of IPDSC. The IDSF President Mr Freitag confirmed that under the IPDSC Statutes IDSF members must be asked to approve the IPDSC members as agreed. 

 

This certainly does not meet my interpretation of "independence and autonomy" and I am slighlty surprised that Mr McDonald sees it as IPDSC being self governed.

 Reading the following "News" at the IDSF website

I noted the following words

Some IPDSC Member Bodies are now proposing to dissolve IPDSC in June, 2010 and integrate its supporters and work completely into the IDSF.

and

IPDSC will transfer registrations of athletes and adjudicators to the IDSF Professional Division, including the IPDSC couples Paolo Bosco & Silvia Pitton and Stefano Di Filippo & Olga Urumova.

It would seem that independence and autonomy are a thing of the past, if they ever existed..

There are some of us who will always believe that from the outset control of the Professionals  was the objective when IDSF proposed setting up IPDSC.

At least two resignations indicate that possibly all cannot support this "integration" process. It will be interesting to watch the actions of certain other people over the next few months.

 Million Dollar questions.

Will the IDSF Professional Division forbid their members to compete in WDC Professional events or will they be treated more favourably than IDSF Amateurs?

Will IDSF Licensed Adjudicators be threatened with bans if they adjudicate WDC events?

Will it become conditional that IDSF Licensed Adjudicators must belong to the IDSF Professional Division
