Hi Joost  I should be grateful to have your opinion.

I understand that there are proposals for Re-organisation of NADB.  My Dutch is very limited!!

Is it your view that these changes will be for the better and especially with regard to Assen?  Will NADB say they recognise The Dutch Open ?

Hey OYT, The "reorganisation" of the NADB are only in  the administration around national competitions... No big changes what so ever...

Well Hazel Fletcher along with Alan is going to the BALL !!  She has accepted the invitation to adjudicate Assen 2009.  That IDSF suspension did not achieve much other than for both Alan and Hazel to return their IDSF Adjudicators Licence. Two quality adjudicators lost to IDSF.

Sports Terms.   Fletchers 2 - IDSF 0.

Re: DUTCH OPEN/ASSEN 2009 - No longer an "unrecognised" event ?

Has common sense returned to dancesport?

Are dancesport and dancesport competitors the winners?

I have just noticed on the idsf website that Assen is no longer an unrecognised event.

What great news if finally the Dutch Open is restored to its rightful place in the dance calendar.

Added ..................

Just noticed the Press Release here at dancesportinfo.net.

GREAT NEWS.  Congratulations to all involved in working for the benefit of the dancers.

Special thanks to Mr Fred Bijster

This is what I would call really good news.

Now we need the same simple common sense applied to all events

Found on the IDSF webpage:

On behalf of the IDSF Presidium, we kindly inform you that the 2009 Dutch Open Assen event is a registered event by our IDSF Member Body in The Netherlands (NADB) and therefore, an Open Competition for all IDSF Athletes who are registered in the IDSF Registration System. Any dancer/couple that does not want to be registered in the IDSF Registration System will not be allowed to enter the competitions.

Is it on me or do I only misunderstand this IDSF release.
The Dutch Open has lost it's open status and is now open only to those who agree with IDSF and it's system.
If you don't accept it, you may not compete.

I now think of all those couples from the  last years who were not allowed to dance the Dutch Open because they were IDSF and IDSF threatened with sanctions.  They left IDSF and the national member bodies because they wanted to free in dancing. But now even these couples may not compete in Assen again if they don't want to be again in IDSF system.

As said before, maybe it's only on me and I don't understand the meaning of the IDSF release.  So if I'm wrong please tell me the true meaning.

Plese help.........

Dear Tanzen-Aktuell,

I think it is quite simple actually:
Everybody can dance in Assen and IDSF will put your name down (a lot of work for nothing, but it seems IDSF likes red tape).
No couples were ever "IDSF-couples" anyway. They didn't exist.
Now it seems they will register every couple in her new IDSF Registration System.
But anybody could do that, or not?
It seems to me IDSF has realized that exclusion and punishment (especially of "her own" couples and judges) doesn't really make them more popular.

Kindest regards,

Geronimo
