Exciting times lie ahead for all Canadians and all dance enthusiasts as the Canadian Dance & DanceSport Council proudly present the Professional World 10 Dance Championships in Trois Rivieres, Quebec . The festival of dance will take place from 1st to 3rd October

Whilst the main event will be the World Championship there will be a full programme of supporting events http://mondialdixdanses.com/english/index.php?page=HOME including Amateur.

A panel of experienced and knowledgable Adjudicators drawn from all over the World has now been announced for the 10 Dance Championship and it is interesting to see that USA is represented so previously voiced fears have been ill founded.

Jerry Abrate -  Italy,  Branko Bohak -  Slovenia,  Karl Breuer -  Germany,  Sam Kaiho -  Japan, Gary McDonald - USA,  Patricia Nikleva - Canada, Stanislav Popov - Russia, Walter Wat - Hong Kong, Tyrone Watkins - South Africa,  Denise Weavers - Great Britain,  Alan Yeh - Chinese Taipei.

All those furtunate enough to be present can be sure of an excellent and well organised event in the true spirit of the Friendship of Dance.

This should really set the tempo for the WDC World Ballroom Championships which CD&DSC will host in 2010.

Wods taken from another topic but connected

longshot

Would it not be wonderful if the Professionals and Amateurs could compete on the same floor during the same event, both groups benefiting from the wonderful experience, utilising the presiding WDC and IDSF adjudicators,  making this a true celebration where the members abiding the rules of their dancesport organizations could rub shoulders and see for themselves how little difference there is between the two, which could potentially result in resolving their differences and end to  all  the b.s.  ?

----

longshot at the CDDSC event Amateurs are certainly being given the opportunity to compete on the same floor as the Professionals.  Amateurs have the opportunity to compete on the same floor as their fellow Amateurs.

The Canadian Closed Amateur Standard and Latin events are part of the programme and so too are the Canadian Open Amateur Standard and Latin events.

Now I agree with you totally it would be wonderful if Professionals and Amateurs combine and offer the very best for DanceSport, for the Comeptitors and for the audience.  I guess it will all come down to how two Canadian bodies see this and whether they place their own and IDSF/IPDSC interests before those of the Sport and the Athletes.

This was a second time  I tried to respond in a gentle way not to upset your easy to hurt feelings,  each time ending up with a rather long reply which , just as I was ready to post mysteriously disappeared from my screen .   Do not despair,  the thoughts are being refined and nicely crystallizing ,  and it may be a long shot, but you even see the larger picture and even  agree in parts with me. I  promise to  try again ... please do set aside  a mild sedative ....

Why the need for personal comments - lets stick to the topic.  I am not being drawn into a debate but if you want to contradict your previous words with a long unnecessary reply go ahead we already have 5 irrelevant lines.   Only truth - We both should agree if your previous words had sincerity - Amateurs should be free to compete against Amateur and if there is unity between all Pro and Am that is a huge step forward.  It should be normal for Pro and Amateur to compete on the same floor.

I am sure all those who attend the CDDSC presentation of the Worlds 10 Dance Professional Championship will have a wonderful experience.

Good Luck to Canada at the moment it is needed.
