During 2009 the USA have notched up 3 WDC World Championship Titles

Standard - Arunas and Katusha

South American Showdance - Riccardo and Yulia

10 Dance - Gherman and Iveta

and congratulations to them all. In the dance world today this is remarkable success.

Back in June/July there was controversy surrounding the claim that the WDC were malevolent towards the USA as they had not included a USA judge over a certain period. (There was one for the World 10 dance)    It seems that the USA couples have been good enough to achieve World Champion status without the need for nationalist judging and this must make their victories even sweeter.

Anyone willing to wager the odds on 4 champions by the end of the year?

I am glad you mentioned WDC World Champions.  If the IDSF ever became a medal sport (and yes I know it will never happen) but if:  how many USA World Champions would there be then?

Thank God for the WDC and USA open policy regarding ballroom dance competitors.
